Ingredient & science glossary

Plain-language definitions of the actives and mechanisms behind the Mitoderm protocol — the same terms that surface as tooltips across the product pages.

ahas
Alpha-hydroxy acids (glycolic, lactic, mandelic). Water-soluble exfoliants targeting tone and texture.
bhas
Beta-hydroxy acids (salicylic). Oil-soluble — penetrate sebum to clear pores. Best for acne-prone skin.
biomimetic peptide
Lab-designed peptide that mimics a signal the skin already understands — instructs fibroblasts to repair, restructure or quiet inflammation.Used inV-Tech SerumV-Tech Gel MaskExotech GelExosignal HairExosignal Hair Spray
collagen
Structural protein providing skin firmness. Production drops ~1% per year after age 25; many actives target its synthesis.
exosomes
Nano-sized vesicles (~30–150 nm) released by cells, carrying growth factors, peptides and signalling molecules. In aesthetics they instruct skin cells to repair, regenerate and produce more collagen.Used inV-Tech SerumExosignal HairExosignal Hair Spray
hyaluronic acid
A glycosaminoglycan that holds up to 1000× its weight in water. Plumps fine lines, restores bounce, and helps active ingredients spread evenly.Used inV-Tech Gel Mask
lyophilised
Freeze-dried — water removed at low temperature to keep delicate cargo stable until activation at the chair.
microneedling
Controlled micro-channels created with a motorised needle pen. Triggers a wound-healing cascade and, more importantly, delivers actives past the stratum corneum.
nad+
Coenzyme central to cellular energy. Topical NAD+ supports mitochondrial recovery — relevant for longevity protocols.Used inEXO-NAD Skin Longevity Peeling
niacinamide
Vitamin B3. Reinforces the skin barrier, evens tone, reduces sebum production and redness. Tolerated by most skin types.
peptide
Short chain of amino acids that signal skin cells. Different peptides stimulate collagen, elasticity, or barrier repair.Used inV-Tech SerumV-Tech Gel MaskExotech GelExosignal HairExosignal Hair SprayEXO-NAD Skin Longevity Peeling
polynucleotide
Long chains of nucleotides that bind water and signal fibroblasts to rebuild dermal scaffolding. Particularly relevant for post-procedure barrier soothing and density.Used inV-Tech Gel Mask
retinol
Vitamin A derivative. Accelerates cell turnover, smooths texture, reduces fine lines. Photosensitising — use in evening protocols.
snail mucin
Filtered secretion rich in glycoproteins, hyaluronic acid and copper peptides. Calms, hydrates and supports barrier recovery.Used inV-Tech Gel Mask
